Environmental Policy

Intermovers’ policy is to conduct all operations in an environmental-friendly manner and to attempt to reduce energy or natural resources waste whenever possible, always within reasonable commercial constrains.
This policy is implemented in the following practical ways : |

- Use of recycled paper products and re-use of office materials whenever possible.
|
- Only paper to be thrown into workplace bins
|
- Other recyclable materials such as plastic, glass and aluminium to be separately disposed of in the bins placed in the pantry for this purpose
|
- Aluminium, plastic, glass and newspapers to be sent to the closest Collecting and Buy-back Centre
|
- Recycle printer cartridges - cartridges sent to printer suppliers for replacement of ink only
|
- Switching off all electrical appliances in the office (lighting, air conditions, computers, etc.) when not in use and before leaving the office..
|
- Turning off all taps after use in the pantry and bathrooms.
|
- Storage of information electronically whenever possible instead of hardcopy files and use of electronic communication in order to avoid paper waste
|
- Enforcement of a smoke-free environment in the office by placing “No Smoking” signs in office
|
- Create environment awareness by placing information cards on “Green Tips” and items that can be recycled in the office
|
|
|
|
|
- Recovering, sorting and re-using packing material such as corrugated boxes, paper, bubble wraps and plastics materials at warehouse
|
- Separate dedicated storage area for re-cycled materials to be re-used for local moves
|
- Other recyclable materials such as plastic, glass and aluminium to be separately disposed of in the bins placed in the pantry for this purpose
|
- Re-use of lift-vans and wooden crates for storage or local moves.
|
- Proper use of packing materials to avoid waste. This will be implemented through suitable training of packers.
|
- Recycling of packing materials : corrugated boxes, paper and plastics materials will be sent to the closest collecting and Buy-back Centre
|
- Proper disposal of debris after unpacking at client’s premises
|
- Enforcement of a smoke-free environment in the warehouse by placing “No Smoking” signs in warehouse

- Create environment awareness by placing information cards on “Green Tips” and items that can be recycled in the warehouse

- Proper maintenance of vehicles and equipment to prevent air and noise pollution

- Low emission by using unleaded fuel if possible to prevent air pollution

- Keep newspaper stacked in the pantry
|
- Throw only paper into your individual bins. Bags to be disposed of have to be differentiated from the kitchen (food) bin when left for collection
|
- Throw aluminium, glass and plastics in the bins placed for this purpose in the pantry
|
- Recycle printer cartridges instead of disposal
|
- All collected recyclable products such as newspapers, glass, aluminium, plastics, ink toners and used batteries have to be kept in the compound in the space reserved for this purpose and Operations will send them to a Collection and Buy-back Centre whenever the quantity is sufficient.

- Make sure not to forget any unused packing materials when leaving clients’ houses

- Collect used packing materials and debris from the clients’ house after unpacking is done and bring back to the warehouse for sorting for disposal or re-use
|
- Dispose of old truck batteries by trading in with workshops
|

- Use packing materials properly to avoid waste
|
- Recycle used packing materials for use during local moves or whenever possible
|
- Keep all used packing materials ready for disposal and send them to the Collection centre whenever the quantity is sufficient
